Mid-Autumn Lantern Riddles Activity 2025

This activity features fun riddles for students to guess, spreading the joy of the Mid-Autumn Festival with friends. This year, we designed the riddles to be more challenging, promoting critical thinking among students. For example, a riddle like “I have no life, but I can die” encourages creative thinking, as the answer is a “battery”—something students encounter daily with their phones and laptops.

“This year’s Mid-Autumn Lantern Riddles activity was truly astonishing for me. I had such a magnificent time solving the riddles, which were both entertaining and challenging. Each riddle, with different languages including Chinese and English, helped me appreciate the festival and its rich traditions even more. The atmosphere buzzed with laughter and excitement, creating a magical moment. Although the riddles were a bit perplexing, with the help of my friends, we eventually solved them. It felt like we made a huge accomplishment! Overall, it was a wonderful experience that will never be forgotten, and I’ll carry those insights with me for a long time.”

Additionally, this activity fosters collaboration, allowing students to gather with classmates for group discussions about the answers. This approach aligns with our goals for this year, as we aim to demonstrate how English activities can be engaging and accessible for everyone.
