To celebrate the 130th Anniversary of our Alma Mater, the True Light Alumni Association organized a four-day “Origins Searching Tour” from 30 March 2002 to 2 April 2002. Local and overseas alumni, teachers, parents and students gathered to pay visits to places such as Guangzhou and Lian-xian. Alumni grasped at the precious opportunity to reminisce about their bygone years and be more acquainted with the strenuous endeavors of the school founder and predecessors to lay the foundation for the schools as well as the tenacious, painstaking efforts of all the principals and teachers.

Our Association together with the 4 True Light schools held a 130th Anniversary Dinner at the Ocean Palace Restaurant, Tsim Sha Tsui, in Hong Kong on 5 May 2002. Different generations of alumni got together at the 100-table banquet and toasted the birthday of our Alma Mater and everybody was joyful and jubilant over the reunion.

The True Light Alumni Association regularly organizes all kinds of socializing activities through which alumni are able to bond with and care for one another. An excursion named “A Leisurely Tour Around the 4 True Light Schools”, during which alumni visited the 4 schools, was held in 2001. Besides, the Association allocated funds from the True Light Yuen Company Limited to organize visits and serve the elderly who are in need with our True Light Christian love in the hope that our goodwill and the True Light spirit can be disseminated in the community. It is our wish that ‘respecting and taking care of our old folks and also the elderly at large’ can become a common practice over time.

The number of True Light Alumni has been constantly on the rise and they are scattered around the globe. In order to facilitate a more timely, in-depth understanding of the activities and developments of the True Light Alumni Association on the part of the alumni societies in various regions and individual alumni, as well as to come up with a communication channel for the alumni to convey their valuable feedback, suggestions and criticisms to the Association, the latter has devised this webpage in the hope that all of our alumni can communicate and stay in touch with us. We sincerely wish that the work of the True Light Alumni Association will flourish and our goals will come to fruition and that the Association can play a part in forging stronger links between our Alma Mater and the alumni.

I earnestly hope that our alumni could offer their full support for all the activities that are to be held by the Association and we wish, on behalf of all of our alumni, that our Alma Mater’s educational endeavors may nurture talents and bear much fruit and that its teaching may positively impact an ample number of students and its resplendent legacy may perpetuate.
